Tejas pulled out the same playbook as last year by offering two mini desserts alongside its meats. The legendary carrot soufflé is regularly on the menu at the Tomball joint, as is the chile relleno beef sausage packed with pepper jack cheese and roasted poblano peppers. This year at the festival, Tejas offered a boozy version of its chocolate panna cotta. Link

“Ten years ago we started this festival to raise the bar and awareness for Houston barbecue,” said J.C. Reid, who co-founded the festival with Michael Fulmer. “Though we’ve come a long way in accomplishing this, Houston barbecue continues to expand and evolve, and we’ll continue to celebrate it this year and in future festivals.” Link
